a perfect pair

Cheers to Prince William and his new princess! I am laid up today with a slight back injury and am not unhappy to have an excuse to lay on the couch and watch coverage of the royal wedding.

I love how these water lillies make a beautiful pair, much like William and Kate. I love how they brought nature into Westminster Abbey, and I especially love the trees that ran along either side of the main aisle. Charming!

Speaking of trees, that’s how I injured my back. We are embarking on a mini-makeover of our front yard and we had 5 large crepe myrtles and one weeping birch delivered yesterday along with a dozen or so plants. I made the mistake of using poor body mechanics when moving them (temporarily) to the back yard. The result: an inability to stand up straight and sharp stabs of pain when I walk around. The best cure is to take it easy, of course, but it’s not so easy when I have so many things to do!

I know I should listen to my body and take the day off – I am mostly going to do so, too. I just need to get a few bits of work done and luckily, I can use my laptop while resting on the couch!
