I think the best advice for most situations (parenting ones included) is just "breathe…" Love your book!

Oooh nice! May not need this stuff right now, BUT seems a good gift to keep stashed away for a future baby shower…. My best parenting advice? I think it’s two things: 1) Remember, EVERYTHING is a phase– it will pass sooner or later. So enjoy the good things while they last, and know the bad will pass before you know it (even if it doesn’t feel like it). 2) Read some parenting books, but trust your instincts above all. Books tend to over-generalize about babies and their behavior. Yours may or may not fit what they say, AND THAT’S OK. Follow your gut.

The best advice I received was to say yes whenever you can so that when you say no, your kids know you mean it. I may not really want my son to wear his Halloween costume to the grocery store I’m February, but what’s the harm? So I say yes. Saves me a battle, gives him some independence, and I can save my no for when he reaches blindly onto the kitchen counter while my hubby’s cooking dinner.
