my husband takes the cake

It’s crunch time around here. My “Cake-Off4Kids” charity event is THIS weekend. My life is not my own.

Enter my husband. He saw how stressed I was last week when we had just over 25 cake entries in the 50-cake contest. So he did what all good spouses do: took one for the team.

Specifically, he gave up the opportunity to taste 50 amazing cakes in one night to research, bake and serve a custom creation to 175+ attendees.

If that’s not romantic, I don’t know what is.

He’s entering the “Ultimate Chocolate” category and has baked more test cakes than I am comfortable having in my proximity. But he is perfecting his recipe and is hoping to win (not sure how to describe it without giving the edge to his competition). Wish him luck!

I am so grateful to our friends for helping get the word out. We are now 4 cakes away from having 50 in the contest. Thank you very much!
