the long and (short) of it
Tate by not having them often (unless I beg, plead or bribe) and Dane by having Paul trim his at home with buzz clippers. I love that I can see my teenage son’s face! How long do you think we have until he grows his hair down to cover his eyes?
I am still in awe of how much fun it is to have two middle school age children; they are more helpful (especially in the kitchen), more self sufficient (breakfasts, lunches and riding to school) and still so open and chatty about their lives. I know this won’t last forever but I am truly grateful for every minute with my lovely sons.

I’ve trimmed Donovan’s hair at home a few times. I’m afraid of taking him anywhere for a haircut, because I *love* his hair as it is (kinda long-ish, like Tate’s above) and I don’t want them to cut it too short. ; )
Marcy, I love Donovan’s hair just as it is, too; I totally get why you wouldn’t take him to a hairdresser. Tate’s is always cut too short – but thank goodness he knows it will just grow again!

I can’t believe Tate is a teenager already, but David and Martin are getting older too, 12 and 9, and want to have LONG hair, in spite of how nice they have looked with SHORT summer hair cuts. I want to have LONG hair too, but it never got that long anyway, and not nearly as thick as theirs. Midweek greetings from snowy Stockholm!
