year two

year two

Today is the one year anniversary of when I actually started blogging (I don’t count the first post in May 2009 as that was just testing the waters).

It’s been an interesting year, to say the least, and I thought I’d take this opportunity to check in with anyone who might be reading. When I started, I thought I would do a lot of writing in support of my book, ‘dirt&sunshine’. The book itself is rather short and I figured I could expand on many of the topics therein.

When I look back over most of the posts, however, I see that I didn’t write very much about parenting (definitely a lot about travel and entertaining). I don’t know if I shied away from this conciously or unconciously. I’m very passionate about raising children creatively but I worry about being preachy. As I’ve said, I’m no parenting expert. I love experiencing the world along with my kids, trying to instill in them the life lessons I’ve picked up along the way.

I haven’t received much feedback from readers (via comments) and I’m hopeful you’ll give me a few minutes of your time in the next few days. Is this a blog you like to visit regularly? If so, why? Am I spending too much time on certain areas and not enough on others? What would you like to hear about?

Thank you in advance for your participation. Everyone who leaves a comment will be entered in my ‘anniversary’ drawing. I don’t have a prize picked out yet…maybe you could suggest one?
