a halloween spirit came calling
We came home from the boys’ scout meeting last night to a delightful surprise – we’d been boo’d! I can’t remember the last time one of our neighbors did this but it is so much fun, I want to share it.
Along with a pumpkin-shaped bag of Halloween treats was the ‘Phantom’ (seen in the photo below) and a letter that read:
—-
Good Evening!
The Phantom haunts you happily from now through Halloween
And was delivered by a neighbor who (hopefully) was not seen
The spirit of the neighborhood has come to wish you well
Someone, somewhere, selected you to receive this happy spell
You must display the Phantom on your door so all can spy
That you’re already haunted by this happy little guy
Then, fix two sacks with goodies likes the one given to you
Ring someone’s bell, leave a bag and make them happy, too!
A copy of this letter and a “Phantom” must accompany each treat. You have 48 hours to cast a “Happy Halloween” spell on two of your neighbors. Remember, you must not be seen!

THIS is why I love my neighbors, my neighborhood and my city. If you initiate this in your area, please let me know! The text above is easy to copy into your own document and any 5-year old can create the Phantom!
Happy Halloween and a virtual “Boo” to all of you!

We have been little phantom’s for the last couple of years. My kids love it.
