February giveaway!
My apologies for neglecting the blog in January; I was a bit overwhelmed with client work (which helps pay the bills) so I had to put ‘dirt&sunshine’ on the back burner.
But I’m back with a fun giveaway for February!
To celebrate dirt&sunshine’s latest offering, a “New Parents Welcome Kit” I am giving away one of the kits to a lucky, random winner (could be you, so enter today!).
This $49.95 pre-wrapped kit includes a copy of ‘dirt&sunshine’, a SwaddleDesigns® Ultimate Receiving Blanket® in your choice of mod blue circles or mod pink circles (mod blue is shown above), a 13 oz bottle of Boudreaux Butt Wash® and 2 oz tube of Boudreaux Butt Paste®.
The Ultimate Receiving Blanket is a generous 42×42 inch premium cotton flannel (pre-shrunk) blanket that helps babies sleep better. The blanket comes with a 1-2-3 Swaddle® diagram to help you learn to swaddle in no time! This blanket is made in the U.S.A. and we are proud to support a small, woman-led business.
Boudreaux Butt Wash and Butt Paste are excellent products for both babies and children. The formulations used in these products are pure, non-irritating and help restore moisture to your child’s sensitive skin.
Between now and Tuesday, February 9th (at noon PST), please leave a comment below with your name and, if you’re so inclined, your favorite parenting advice (one of which will be made into a tag for the kit).
A random winner will be drawn at 1pm on February 9th; be sure to come back and see if you’re the winner!
Thanks for participating!
kathy
P.S. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR NAME SOMEWHERE IN YOUR COMMENT SO I MAY FIND YOU IF YOU’RE THE WINNER!

Kathy- I love this kit and the new parent’s I gave it to adored it as well.
I think the best advice for most situations (parenting ones included) is just "breathe…"
Love your book!
Oooh nice! May not need this stuff right now, BUT seems a good gift to keep stashed away for a future baby shower…. My best parenting advice? I think it’s two things: 1) Remember, EVERYTHING is a phase– it will pass sooner or later. So enjoy the good things while they last, and know the bad will pass before you know it (even if it doesn’t feel like it). 2) Read some parenting books, but trust your instincts above all. Books tend to over-generalize about babies and their behavior. Yours may or may not fit what they say, AND THAT’S OK. Follow your gut.
Encourage your child to be independent before the "Mommy" in you really wants them to be.
So many cute things!
The best advice I received was to say yes whenever you can so that when you say no, your kids know you mean it. I may not really want my son to wear his Halloween costume to the grocery store I’m February, but what’s the harm? So I say yes. Saves me a battle, gives him some independence, and I can save my no for when he reaches blindly onto the kitchen counter while my hubby’s cooking dinner.
It’s beautiful Kathy! Love the blanket – wish it was around when my kids were little. Hope I can win this for the WAT auction.
