The last sign that I’m obsessed with Urban FarmGirls (UFG) has got to be my scheming to stop by the informal workshop this Saturday at Emily Joubert (between 12-4pm) and still make it to a 1:30pm wedding in Los Gatos!! If you want to attend, visit Emily Joubert’s In-Store Events page for details:
http://emilyjoubert.com/events.html – I am so excited about meeting Tina Calloway (artist and owner) and learning some do-it-yourself tips about living wreaths and hanging succulent gardens!
What are you currently obsessed with?
Hi Kathryn, I just wanted to thank you for getting me out of trouble trying to create the Harry Potter Platform number 9 and 3/4 graphic for a fund raiser I’m going to tonight. The printout size even is perfect. My partner is going as 9 and I as 3/4.So thank you for sharing this.By way of repaying your generosity, I noticed that your jpg images appear on your pages line by line(that is they gradually appear from the top down.(my broadband is 1.5 mbps)This can be solved using photoshop by doing the following:-In photoshop after you are happy with your image go to File > Save for the Web and devices>Click on the Two Up tab>select JPG (in the right hand properties window) and also select ‘Progressive’.This property allows the image to appear on your website/blog as a whole image rather than slowly appears down the page. good luckMichael
Michael, thank you so much for the tip! I’ve been trying to save images as small as possible, thinking they would load fast enough (and not realizing, after all this time, that Progressive is what I need!). I’ve just checked the box in Save for Web… so it will be there from here on out.I think it’s charming you went as 9 and 3/4! Did you find my Harry Potter party page via Google search? Ever since I created the video of my Potions class experiment, it seems people find me (mostly mom’s doing HP parties). All the best, kathy
HI kathy, glad that i could help you with your site.Re finding you, yes I was doing a search on google or yahoo for harry potter images to find some ideas for our costumes. Not sure if it was through google images, a link from there or just a straight search. Its definitely a good hook to get people to come to your site though plus the fact that you share downloads.Hey I do have a pic of our outfits which I’ll put on your facebook page.thanks Michaelps feel free to ask about any other technical issues
Michael, I can’t wait to see the photo of your costumes! Let me know when you post it; I’m not sure if Facebook gives me an automatic notification. Note my latest post: I fixed the photo setting! Thanks again, by the way.Are you a professional photographer? I’m always looking for guidance (and any feedback on blogging, websites, etc.). Do you have a blog, website or Facebook page? I’m so curious. kathy
